Fourth Grade

Identity, Independence, Curiosity

A note from our fourth grade Teacher:

Our fourth grade classroom is a warm, encouraging environment where I want my students to explore, be curious, and expand their horizons.

We build a firm foundation for the school year through learning about God’s faithfulness in the Old Testament and studying the covenants. As a class, we learn how to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual created in the image of God. And when we make mistakes, which we all do, it is an opportunity to learn about responsibility and independence.

Our fourth graders work on building stronger skills in Reading, Language Arts, Math, and Science which equip them for continued success in Elementary School and beyond.  At this level, students begin to learn about Citizenship and what it means to be American.  Students also participate in weekly sessions in Computer Science, Spanish, Physical Education, Art and Beginning Band.  We challenge student to apply their learning through experiences such as Poetry Project; Report & Presentation on one of our United States; Science Experiments and Constitution Week.

Students explore and learn about the world outside our classroom by  participating in Read-Alouds about people with personalities and abilities that are unique.  We discuss differences in cultures, times, and backgrounds.  This also helps us develop our individual reading identity by learning how to find books that intrigue and challenge us.

Together, we are on a mission to go deeper, explore fearlessly, and ground ourselves in God’s faithfulness.
