Second Grade

Learning Personal Responsibility
A note from our second grade teacher:
Second grade is such an exciting year of transition, growth and change, and I am proud to be a part of your student’s learning. I strive to build a classroom filled with love, acceptance and respect for ourselves and for each other.
We encourage students to develop their problem-solving skills both academically and personally. We learn about taking responsibility for our work and our actions. As we study the beautiful world around us through math and science, we look to God as the creator and sustainer of it all. And through both the academic learning and their emotional development, we encourage students to develop a personal relationship with God.
Our second graders also participate weekly in Music, Physical Education, Art, and Computers.
The entire second grade curriculum is designed for your child to practice and experience the thrill of independent thinking; we seek to build up the confidence and skills that they will use throughout the rest of their education. Students are excited to put these skills into practice through a variety of fun projects like a Classroom Pet, Christian Biography, Invention Convention, and much more.
We welcome you to come and see what second grade is all about!
