At Downers Grove Christian School, we recognize junior high as a formative time for students—academically, spiritually, and socially. Partnering with parents, our mission is to nurture and guide students as they grow into all God created them to be. During these years, our junior high students are known, loved, and supported by teachers who are passionate about helping them thrive and develop their unique gifts and talents.
Building a Biblical Worldview and Academic Excellence
Students graduate from DGCS with a solid Biblical worldview, equipped to understand what they believe and why they believe it. Our teachers integrate God’s Word into every subject area, allowing students to connect their learning to their faith. Through a rigorous academic curriculum, students are challenged to think critically and develop problem-solving skills. They also enjoy meaningful relationships with their classmates and teachers, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.
Exploring Interests through Extracurricular Activities
Junior high students have a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, allowing them to explore interests in music, art, computer science, tech club, sports, and Spanish. Our January electives and after-school clubs provide additional ways for students to discover new passions, develop teamwork skills, and grow in confidence.
