Challenging Minds and Hearts
In 7th grade, we are committed to engaging and challenging students both academically and spiritually. This is a year of growth as students develop stronger learning skills and more defined interests. Our rigorous, Christ-centered curriculum encompasses history, math, language arts, science, and more, all designed to inspire curiosity and deepen understanding of God’s world.
Building a Strong Foundation for High School
Seventh grade is a pivotal year of preparation for high school. In math, students tackle Pre-Algebra topics such as graphing, number theory, and geometry, setting a strong foundation for advanced math studies. In science, we explore God’s design in biology, studying cell function, genetics, and body systems. These concepts come to life through the annual Science Fair, where students use the scientific method to explore a question of personal interest and showcase their findings.
Hands-On Learning and Real-World Connections
Experiential learning is central to our approach. Students participate in educational field trips, where they engage with the natural world through a scientific lens, applying what they've learned in real-world contexts. Throughout the year, students complete various research projects in core subjects, reinforcing critical thinking and analytical skills.
Faith-Integrated Curriculum
Our 7th-grade curriculum is deeply rooted in a Biblical worldview, keeping God’s creativity and purpose at the center of every subject. In history, students study America’s founding, seeing God’s guidance in the nation’s origins. In Language Arts, student-led book discussions, research papers, and projects bring classic literature to life from a Christian perspective, fostering thoughtful reflection and discussion.
Enrichment and Elective Opportunities
Seventh graders also participate weekly in Computer Science, Spanish, Physical Education, Art, and Music, with an invitation to join the Band. These classes offer opportunities to develop new skills, explore creative interests, and build teamwork.
A Year of Growth and Discovery
Our dedicated junior high teachers are excited to guide students as they sharpen their academic skills and discover God’s design in the world around them. Through each lesson and activity, we encourage students to grow in knowledge, faith, and character, equipping them for success in high school and beyond.
