Seventh Grade
Challenging Minds and Hearts
A note from Junior High teachers, Judy Newhall, Pat Quinn, Leah Slagle, Isaac Soriano
We are dedicated to engage and challenge your seventh grader in their academic and spiritual journey. Our rigorous curriculum covers all aspects of history, math, language arts, science and more through a Christ-centered lens.
We take full advantage of the fact that in the middle of Junior High, your student is rapidly developing independent interests and stronger learning skills. We prepare your child for their high school math education through Pre-Algebra courses that cover topics like graphing, number theory and geometry, while in the sciences, students study God’s hand in our biology through cell function, genetics and body systems. Students put all they’ve learned into practice during our Science Fair, an opportunity for them to use the scientific method to research a topic or question of interest to them.
We focus on hands-on experiences that bring core subjects to life. We take outdoor education trips where students explore the natural world around them through a scientific lens. They will apply their academic skills in their lab work and various Research Projects throughout the year.
In all we do, we keep our focus on God’s creativity and power. For example, in history, we study God’s guiding hand in our country’s founding; in Language Arts, we use student-led book discussions, research papers, and other projects to bring classic works of literature to life from a Christian perspective.
Seventh graders participate weekly in Computer Science, Spanish, Physical Education, Art, and Music — each is invited to participate in Band.
Our team of junior high teachers is ready to challenge each of our students as they sharpen their academic skills and learn about how God has designed and guided the world around them.
